Swinburne Here I COME!!

HOHO!! I have gotten my offer letter from Swinburne!! Choir of Joy to the World begins:

"Joy to the world, the angels sing.. lala, lala, lalaaaa (i dont know this part). Praise the dukes and duchessES of heavens! I have been waiting one whole month before this and when i went to my INTI Australain fair last friday, the lady made a few calls to the Faculty and VOILA! My offer came a few hours later. Bless those efficient Australians. =) Got the Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) WHEEEE!!

So, my parents have been bossing me about and giving me those "Its-good-for-your-future-talks" which can last ages about sending parcels over to aussie, i have to learn to cook my own food otherwise i will have gastric, i MUST not skip meals OR ELSE i will have gastric, reinforcing the bus and train routes that neither of us are familiar with and of course, what to pack. GAH! Eventhough its longwinded, its pretty nice come to think of it. =) But the down side here is that... I am going there alone. And flight booking dates are all NEARLY confirmed.

16th or 18th February. AT 1.00AM.. The first impression Australians are going to get from me is a small panda (under eye dark circles) stumbling out from the plane. =(

Sighs.. Chinese New Year (14th i suppose?) for two days and off i go to the foreign land where i have to work hard to get my rep up for the permanent recidency. Well, at least i can salvage a bit of cash. And maybe a little more since i am going overseas. Down side of CNY, i will be the talk of the family with "Jun jun is going Aus-trah-liah" "So fast?" and hopefully "She needs cash or not? Let's give some to her for groceries". Not that i think i will buy groceries but CASH for "groceries" will do. =)

Have not gone through the procedures for accepting my offer for Swinburne yet actually. For the procrastinator i am, this is going at a pretty fast pace if you asked me. Teehee. But i will accept it SOON. As well as trying to get a job for this coming holidays before uni ends.

Two more weeks in INTI! OWH NO! WHAT AM I TO DO!

Confused,
June

Greetings, World.

Morning everyone! Its 10:03am and i am writing a blog when i can be sleeping more but i cant even if i wanted to. But this morning is a produtive morning. I just discovered that in USA there are i-dont-know-how-many-states, but i now know TWO of them! With their cities too! First would be Nebraska (city Lincoln) and Indiana (city IndianaPOLIS) and Eugene which i dont know is a state or city but i couldnt bring myself to google it.. Hands still malfunctioning at this hour. Gah! I still have much to learn. And in the educational side of things, remember i told you some thing bout biosurfactants as my report writing thing? Yeah.. At LAST i got to doing it a little and guess what i found out, here's an excerpt from Wikipedia (First on Google):

"Biosurfactants are surface-active substances synthesised by living cells. They have the properties of reducing surface tension, stabilising emulsions, promoting foaming and are generally non-toxic and biodegradable."
"Interest in microbial surfactants has been steadily increasing in recent years due to their diversity, environmentally friendly nature, possibility of large-scale production, selectivity, performance under extreme conditions and potential applications in environmental protection" (Wikipedia, Biosurfactants, cited 6th October 2009)

Haha! Loads of horrfying details after THAT. Hmm.. but biosurfactants ARE really becoming an important tool especially in bioremediation, a scientifically tech-ie term which means they use microorgansms or living organisms (thus the word BIO) to clear up wastes such as heavy metal deposition in water, or the most common, clearing up oil spills and from Wikipedia:

"herbicides and pesticides formulations, detergents, health care and cosmetics, pulp and paper, coal, textiles, ceramic processing and food industries, uranium ore-processing and mechanical dewatering of peat" (Wikipedia, Biosurfactants, cited 6th October 2009)

All dead useful to us and the environment if you asked me. But in health care and cosmetics.... I dont think i would want to put anything BIOSURFACTANT-ey in my body. So there. Full stop. Yeah.. So this is what green management people together with scientists do to save Mother Nature.. Anyway, i have to go! Future scientist needs to do more work on her project before class. See you!

Love,
June

Treehouse Bistro & Cafe

Ah, by the way i went to the Treehouse Bistro and Cafe yesterday night! Its really nice! Well they called it "Treehouse" because its situated above ground level with loads of bushy beachy trees and straw huts bunched up together. The place sells Thai, Western and Malaysian food which i ordered some chicken cheese burger. And eventhough the place LOOKS like it sells alcohols, it apparently doesnt. PLus it has all this Jazz bands i heard to be playing sometimes. I didnt get to hear it though. (Pouts) Haha! Sadly, I have no pictures except to find from someone else's blog. Recommended place!

Opportunities & Chances Are The Future

Couldnt get the english version of the poster. Just couldnt load. (screams loads of decent words)

Just watched The or A Perferct Getaway yesterday night and i have to admit, the previews of other movies during the commercials scared me more than the movie. And the beginning of the show was pretty slow, but when it comes to the middle parts, OHOHO. Everyone starts suspecting each other of being the murderer of the island's killing killing cases. >,<
And from yesterday, i think i would give myself chances and not being so closed minded anymore. Teehee. Well better go off to do my small group discussion aka SGD report bout biosurfactants. Gah! What the hell is THAT? Well.. I am about to find out. See you next time!
Ps. Its raining cats and dogs! WHY OH WHY!

Just ran back all the way to my room.

(pauses to cach breath).

Yes.

Ran while laughing hysterically with felicia and cherrie all the way to my block and up four floors. All this involving pants pulling plus barbaric actions that i shall not blog about. But this was one of the best moments. =)

Floor Mates aka Very Important Porn Stars (VIPs) are back!

Going karaoke in half an hours and then supper. Oh god.. >,< GTG freshen up. Ciao..

(pauses to catch breath)

Still tired,
June

PS. Was thinking about a friend today, and compared with another person, thinking of all the little things that annoyed me and also things that made me smile, and i realised,

"i will never trade him for another person, and will ALWAYS have a place to stand in my heart" =)

Just glad to have you as my friend.
