ChongYi's B'Day

Yay!! ChongYi's birthday is a success!! Well.. except for a few glitches and last monute moments.. For example:

- Got the movie tickets for "the dark knight" 3 hours before show. Me and Natasha managed to nab the 9 seats at the side 3rd row from the front. The image IS a bit big but nonetheless, the show was AWESOME!! Haha!!

- 2nd moment: got the cake a few minutes before arrival of everyone (natasha's and sukleng's mission)

- me and natasha got chongyi's roses DURING our lunch time

- Wernli told us she is not coming the night before..THEN.. suddenly changes her mind AFTER we bought the tickets. Had to go line up again!! Ish!! Wernli!!! You better belanja me sushis man!! But luckily managed to get it for her.. whew..

- Adiel came for the lunch AFTER we finished eating cake. haiyo.. Never mind never mind. At least he is there. Hehe..

PANDAS!!!!

This is for those that haven't yet seen the 16 baby pandas. SICHUAN , China One zoo in southwest China has its hands full with 16 baby pandas.The Sichuan Wolong Panda Protection and Breed Center is dealing with the results of a breeding boom - 16 pandas have been born. The brood includes five sets of twins. The cubs are weighed and measured every five days. The heaviest tips the scale at just over 24 pounds, while the lightest weighs about 11 pounds. Once weaned, the panda cubs will attend panda kindergarten. In the meantime, more little ones are expected at the center since 38 giant pandas were artificially impregnated.

Work Life 2

This post is due to a forced request from a friend of mine whose shop i visited...last Thursday and asked me to blog bout my O' Briens experience there.. Haih.. Haha! It's Adiel la actually.. heh heh. Ok! Hmmmmm..

It was a bright sunshiny afternoon, and there i was standing in front of The Apartment, a menu in hand, willing to invite guests aka customers into our humble abode.. Weekdays weren't such busy days, receiving only a clutter or two of guests every once in a while. So.. Inhaling the wonderful fumes of sweet, baked, dough wafting through the air from Big Apple (a doughnuts shop with heavenly doughnuts), my stomach reacted to to it.. almost like an enzyme substrate reaction.. it rumbled with excitement.. There i was..standing there.. waiting to invite customers in..but secretly hoping that i was given a break to nab something to eat. AND.. MY WISH WAS GRANTED!! My manager..suddenly waltzed in and pointed to me.."You can leave this hellish place where the smell of food always lures you like porno but condemned never to eat..".. NAH!!! He just mentioned i could go for an hours break. WHOOHOOOO!! My savior.. Snivel.. (wipes a tear away). So, i rushed to Adiel's O' Briens as quick as a hamster hoping there is something cheap to eat but good. Adiel tried to lure me into the trap to eat his own made sandwich WHICH COSTS RM13++. WHICH IS MY 3 HOURS WORTH OF WORK!! NO.. NO.. Sorry adiel.. I will next time k? hehe. So.. When i went in the shop.. my eyes were gratified towards a mind boggling piece of radiating thing!! I went closer..and... IT"S A BLUEBERRY MUFFIN WITHOUT NUTS!!!! (the cheapest food in the shop) MY WISH WAS GRANTED AGAIN!!! The texture..the aroma..the crispy muffin-ny crust..all baked to perfection.. IT'S REALLY GOOD!! I recommend it to all of you man!! It even beats the luring "porno" smell of Big Apple!! The best muffin ever tasted..Ahhh... I could almost SEE it now.. Omg.. I'm getting hungry wei.. HAHA!!

PS. Since this blog is requested by adiel.. Maybe i should write a little bout him lah.. Ermmm.. Adiel was very hardworking making sandwiches like there is no tomorrow..Slicing every piece.. and arranging them into...... a work..... of........art...... heh heh! sorry adiel!! i will try your sandwich 1 day k?? I promise!! But the muffin is real good... Hungry hungry... Bye!!

Work Life

OMG lar!!!! it's my sixth day at work already and i'm ready to drop dead on the floor due to over tired-ness.. Now i can't really open my eyes properly so forgive me if i have any spelling mistakes. hehe. SOOOO...



My job is actually as hostess. Yes.. Sounds like a high post and like it's really grand right? IT'S NOT!! I stand at the door and have to act all sweety sweet and must speak full of confidence some more!! ish la... And then bring them in the restaurant and seat them, give them menus, then after that supposedly recommend them GOOD specialties. I haven't get that far yet. I mean in recommending peops good stuffs. I don't dare lah!!! I'm a shy person and now i have to do this.. Haiyo.. Not to mention standing for six hours straight without sitting and no break! Nooooooooo. haha! But everybody is really nice to me...The guests..And my colleagues especially. The kitchen staff (all guys), the waiters (all guys), hosts/hostesses (one guy, 3 Gals, natasha coming in on the 15th july..yay!!), bar people (guys gals). And there are six managers i think.. Amritpal, Kenny, Navin (manager in training who inform me he shouted at guests b4 to invite them in the restaurant- but nice nonetheless), JJ, Keith/Kit (dunno how to spell his name- quite lengzai AND nice). AHAHA! Then there is the main boss controlling the managers called Mr. Andrew who has a pretty daughter married and already with a little girl. OMG. Scary wei.. hehe. No one at the apartment must ever read all this!!

The interior deco of The Apartment is AWESOME!! It really is like an apartment. There is the Library section, Bedroom (i swear i want to roll on it everytime i see it's soft and fluffy-ness), Bathroom, Dining room, Loft, Lounge.... And i guess lots more places i can't give a name for. Should come and visit man! But i must warn you.. The food is pretty.....expensive....HAHA!! Seriously!!

Yesterday(Saturday) was the busiest yet! Running here and there like a mad woman, apologising to guests if their table that they reserved is STILL occupied by the people before them, THEN escorting them to their real tables after a while, breathing the deadly fumes from the cigarettes at the smoking sections (i do not understand why do people enjoy inhaling those stuff..ewwy), wearing an APRON as my uniform, and talking to my colleagues, then all of us dispersing swiftly when a manager appears.. And nowadays i as a new addition to the workers have to do this observation thingy. Like going into the kitchen, checking out the walk in freezer, looking at the spices, garnishes, herbs, work stations (oven, broiler (what the hell is this??), sandwich, saute (again..what's this??), preparation section..).. laadeedum.. AND!!!! I found out that...you know the spice that indians like to use that shapes like a star? It's called a staranise!!! Pronounced as star-eh-niiiisss. Nice name!! From now on.. Call me Tan...Staranise Tan.. AHAHAA!!

But all in all, i really enjoying doing all this. Well except the smoking part.. The part i enjoy most is when i am standing there..free..(when there are no customers bothering me)..counting the minutes away and also counting the MONEY i earned. WHOOHOO!! That's the best-est!! I solemnly swear that i will never ever waste money in my whole life ever again! It needs all my effort to do it well, to please the managers and the main boss at the same time to keep it. SOOOOOO HARD!! I dread coming to work everyday thinking why did i even think of working at the first place, then again thinking that it's actually fun and worth it at the end of the day. It's..complicated.. Haha!

Well another day of work tomorrow! Hope it gets better and better! hehe. I go eat some ice creams now. YAY!! hehe. Till next time!!

PS.. I'm pro at smiling now by the way. And i went for my driving lesson 3 today. My muscles have developed wonderfully! haha! Eventhough i never did anything.. Must be the carrying of menus..
