What's the connection between the BLOOD and the porcelain plate with wells???

Well will tell you soon enough.

Just now we had MCB lab (Molecular and cell biology), and so happen that the experiment was on BLOOD... And there was this part where we can test our blood using anti-A antiserum, anti-B antiserum, and anti-D antiserum (which i don't know what is it and how to read it, but typed it here JUST BECAUSE it sounds pro).

Firstly, we put the three substances into the porcelain plate wells as shown above.

Secondly, clean your finger with 70% ethanol sprayed on the cotton bud.

Third, Mr Lim Chia Hong aka MCB lecturer pricks your hand with this sterile needle thing.

Lastly, SQUISH out your blood and drip it into the wells. By the clotting, you have your blood type staring up at you!

But at the last stage i squeezed too much blood out! It's just flowing off my finger like a fountain of glory or something! And then it couldn't stop for a little while longer after that.. >.< But here is a little thing that i found in a forum....

"Rhesus negative are more common in Caucasian population..it's a rarity among Asians"

Oho ho! I'm a rarity! But then it's actually bad, because this Rhesus negative thing, means that my cells don't have that specific protein or receptor on it's outer membrane. So, the Rhesus negative will recognise the Rhesus positive (which is a majority of the population) cells as an insurgent and kill it!! No second child for me then cause i will kind of... accidentally kill it if it's a positive due to efficient immune system.. =.= But first child is OK i guess, cause my body just detected the positive cells and won't kill it straight away.

Oh enough negative talk!

I was christian ed the name "Serena" by Sonal just because i look SERENE when eating my chicken rice.. Cough cough. OK! Got to depart now! Need to do my Biology of organisms and Maths assignments due tomorrow. Sighs deeply.... Bye!

Mayan's Prophecy for 2012 A.D.

Hey hey! I am back at INTI and as i am typing this... the seconds are ticking close to 6.00pm. Extreme case of tiredness and is sighing dramatically. >.< So first day of uni again for semester 2... I have five subjects this year, Biology of Organisms, Introduction to Biotechnology, Chemistry 2, Mathematics & Statistics, and Molecular & Cell Biology 2. A great burden if compared with last semester's two subjects... Lecturers are alright as usual with some flaws here and there, but good all the same.

BUT, first time in my life i had this very facinating part of the Biology of Organisms lecture, totally unrelated to the Charles Darwin thing on evolution Mr. Thong supposed to teach us that time. It's about the December 21 2012 A.D. (Anno Domini) the Mayans prophesized. Apparently that was the end of their Age of the Fifth Sun. Well here are some background info on it. (Oh yeah.. Talking about abbreviations, i just knew that the short form of W.C. always used for toilets is actually Water Closet... Closet.... ok...)

Pacal Votan, a 7th centuryMayan prophet, or known as Time's Special Witness, left a universal message for future generations of an evolving Earth.

This 2012 is actually quite famously known! But in other words, "The Time of Trial on Earth," "Judgement Day," "The Time of Great Purification," "The End of this Creation," "The Quickening," "The End of Time as We Know It," and "The Shift of the Ages." And in terms of evolution, we will be switching from the Old World to the New World in terms of World Age!

But strangely... the Mayans dissapeared mysteriously leaving behind abandoned buildings and all... Oooo.. Definitely something to do some research into man! OK! Gotta go for dinner. Sighs.. The troublesomeness of reality...

The Spirit

“The spirit”… If anybody out there has not watched it, DON’T. I’m warning you! This show is definitely not the greatest show ever and it certainly makes the top 10 worst shows I have watched. DUDE! The whole show is mainly black and white! Reminding me of the show “Sin City” I watched during the bus ride to redang. (I think I slept through parts of the show..) Frequently found myself wishing that I should have watched a more colourful & happy show a.k.a. “Bedtime Stories” to mark my start of the last day of the hols. But if there are any good points to mention… Well there are the famous actor and actresses – Samuel Jackson, Scarlett Johanssan, and Eva Mendes. Then some parts are pretty funny but the lame kinda funny.. Ack! Sighs deeply… Well I am shifting back to INTI tomorrow and I have not finalized my packing yet. Haha! First week back usually is pretty boring.. Alright.. Going off now.. Long long day tomorrow. Bye! See you soon!
